CURRENT JOB OPENING:

Covington Electric Cooperative, Inc., is seeking an Assistant Dispatcher/Metering Specialist for Sanford (Andalusia) area

Under direction of the Billing & Collections Manager, follows up on problem situations related to meters; inspects for tampering; reads hard-to-read meters; repairs meter bases; meets with consumers to discuss meter problems and to collect on returned checks; disconnects and re-connects meters;  assists as needed with line repair in emergency situations; responds to consumer complaints and questions; fills in and assists Sr. Dispatcher during trouble calls, storms, and in Sr. Dispatcher’s absence as needed; and performs other related duties as requested.

Applicants wishing to apply should meet the following minimum requirements:  High school education or its equivalent, electric distribution experience preferred, and three to five years’ experience in troubleshooting and repairing electric meters and related equipment, or a combination of training, education, and experience.  Applicants must also pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
